In Wyoming, we have two primary centers for independent living: Wyoming Independent Living (WIL) and Wyoming Services for Independent Living (WSIL). The Centers for Independent Living have five core services: Information & Referral, Peer Counseling, Independent Living Skills, Individual & Systems Advocacy, and Transition.
The independent living Centers’ philosophy is that they, “believe every person, regardless of disability, deserves to experience dignity, safety, health, and personal independence” (WIL, 2023). Each Center provides services to individuals that meet their unique needs. Their goal is to support individuals in living independently in their communities, through different types of programs, some of which include: Independent Living, Transportation Check Program, Community Choice Waiver, Advocacy & Peer Support, ADA Training & Technical Assistance.
Wyoming Independent Living (WIL) serves the east side of the state. Wyoming Services for Independent Living (WSIL) serves the west side of the state.
