Announcing the Hybrid 2024 Annual Convention

The Wyoming Council of the Blind (WyCB) will be holding our annual convention on Saturday, September 28, 2024. This year’s convention theme is “Breaking Barriers.” The informative presentations are intended to help attendees cope with and overcome many of the perceived obstacles encountered by people with Blindness/Visual Impairment (B/VI). Our after lunch presentation by our Keynote Speaker, Judy Jones, “The Perfect Recipe, Combining Attitude, Philosophy, and Resources” will surely energize us all.
Again, this year, our convention will be presented as a hybrid event with attendees having the option to attend in person or virtually via Zoom. Those attending in person will be gathering in one of the Vision Outreach Services conference rooms in the Pineview School located at 539 S. Payne in Casper. Those wishing to attend via Zoom will be sent an internet link after we receive their completed Registration Form.
Because of a recent generous donation, there is no Convention Registration Fee for WyCB members this year. By paying a $20.00 membership fee, nonmembers can join WyCB and attend for free. Membership applications are available on our website or can be mailed to you. Nonmembers who do not wish to join WyCB can still attend our convention by paying a $20.00 Registration fee.
We will need all attendees to send us a completed Registration Form in order for us to ensure we can accommodate everyone.
There is a $5.00 lunch fee if you want to share in the pizza and soft drinks we will be providing for lunch. Pizza toppings options are on the Registration Form. There is no lunch fee if you bring or get your own lunch.
Please be aware that all WyCB activities and scheduled programs are subject to being photographed or videoed. Photos and video are the property of WyCB and are for WyCB's use. If you do not want to be included in a photo or video, please let the photographer, or person leading the event, know at the beginning of the event.
Our President, Dr. Cheryl Godley, will preside over our Annual Membership Business Meeting in the afternoon. This will include a current financial report and minutes from last year’s meeting, as well as reports from the chairs of our standing committees. Following our reports we will be electing some new officers and directors. We will end our convention by having an open discussion during which we will critique the day and consider ideas that will help us improve future conventions.
